Nantucket Lighthouse School has provided island children with the most inspiring learning environment for more than 22 years.
It’s a place where families and educators allow childhood to be a magical and a determining moment in life when curiosity and wonder illuminate experience. It is a place where social emotional development is equally important as academic growth.
To make a Lighthouse School education accessible to all island families, we depend on the kind support of our community. Your generosity allows us to maintain reasonable tuition fees, while being able to offer need-based financial aid, enhance our educational programming, invest in professional development, and maintain our growing campus infrastructure.
A few generous members of the Nantucket Lighthouse School community have offered an exciting Annual Fund challenge - from now until December 31st, every contribution to the NLS Annual Fund will be matched dollar for dollar up to $200,000! Why does Nantucket Lighthouse School have an annual giving campaign?
Through the generosity of our donors, we continue to grow like our students. Nantucket Lighthouse School's Annual Fund provides essential support to the school's operating budget. Like all independent schools in the U.S., NLS relies on gifts to contribute to the operational gap - the difference between tuition and the actual cost of a Lighthouse education. The alternative, raising the tuition, would make education at Nantucket Lighthouse School prohibitive to many families.

In such a small school, each and every gift has a direct impact. The participation of every family is a measure of confidence in this amazing school and a show of gratitude for what NLS is offering to our children.
What does my gift help support?
Our fiscal calendar runs from July 1 to June 30, and your annual gifts have an immediate impact on the experience of our children. Your participation is crucial to sustaining our programming and faculty, awarding financial aid, and contributing to the maintenance of our schoolhouse. The Annual Fund bridges the gap between our true operating expenses and the revenue from tuition for this year’s budget.
